Tasks — who owes what, and by when
Assign work to staff with a response time, and let the clock escalate silence.
Tasks → New task: pick the staff member by name, write the title and details, choose a priority — Urgent / High / Normal — and a response time in minutes. The minutes pre-fill from the task policy default for that priority and can be changed for this one task; the task then says "set on this task" beside the policy figure. Category and department come from the staff profiles.
If the assignee box only offers *Myself*, your role does not hold tasks.manage — ask an owner to grant it from Roles & permissions.
A task must be acknowledged within its response time. Silence past it marks the task late and escalates it to management; every further interval escalates one level more, up to the limit in the policy. Acknowledge → Start → Complete are the moves; a note can be added at each. Cancelling and reopening are for the creator or a manager.
Teachers see their own tasks under More → Tasks in the app and at /teacher/tasks on the web, with the same actions. Teachers holding tasks.manage can assign from there as well.
Task response SLA compliance judges lateness by each task's own response time, not only the policy default.
