Attendance — class & gate
Two registers, one truth: the classroom and the gate.
Class attendance is marked by teachers per section (Attendance → Mark, or the Teacher portal's Today board). Gate presence records physical entry/exit punches (Gate) — including staff.
Pick section and date, tap present / absent / late / leave per student, save once. Corrections are allowed and audited.
Overview gives today's picture per class. In Reports → Attendance: daily summary, monthly %, low-attendance list (below your threshold, with guardian phones), absentees with contacts, late arrivals, consecutive-absence alerts, and the class-vs-gate reconciliation that catches proxy marking.
Student-wise subject matrix is the sheet the exam office asks for: pick a section and every row is a student with photo and name, one column per subject showing % (present / total), an Overall column, and Eligibility per subject — Yes or No against the exam attendance threshold in Configurations → Academic policy. Cells are red, amber or green; the PDF carries the photos.
Any report drops the columns a filter has already fixed — filter to one section and the wing, class and section columns disappear, with the summary line saying what you filtered to.
Switch on Lesson plan before attendance in Configurations → Attendance and a class register stays locked until that subject has a topic planned for the day. The teacher sees a plain message with a link to add it, and a reminder at 18:30 the evening before lists tomorrow's classes without a plan. Enter the syllabus first — with an empty syllabus every class would be locked. Whole-day registers are never locked.
Staff presence comes from gate punches; approved leaves live in Payroll → Leaves. The staff attendance report combines both — and payroll can apply leave-without-pay automatically.
Attendance → Self check-in decides who may mark their own arrival from the Teacher app, the campus fence (centre and radius) and the hours it is open. Teachers use More → My attendance in the app, or /teacher/clock on the web: one button checks in or out, and the month below shows first in, last out and hours per day — gate punches included. With allow outside on, an off-campus check-in is recorded and flagged instead of refused; switch it off once the fence is confirmed.
